Module 10.2 Cornea Donation Telephone Conversation

4 hours | 5 CEUs/CPD

The focus of this workshop is to support staff to take a skilled, sensitive and family-centred approach when speaking with families by phone about cornea donation. Participants will consider how to structure these calls, explain cornea donation and the consent process clearly, introduce the Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire in a respectful way, and respond supportively to families’ questions, emotions and decisions. The workshop also explores how staff can communicate clearly and compassionately by phone, support informed decision-making without pressure, and use debrief and self-care after difficult calls.

Staff attending this module are encouraged to complete Modules 1 and 2 in advance of taking this workshop.
