Your communication competency

You are already competent in many areas of communication. You may already have the knowledge and skills to communicate effectively and empathically with the people who use our services, and with your colleagues. This set of competencies (skills) is based on the Calgary-Cambridge Guide and is offered as a checklist for you to think about how you communicate with the people who use our services. The checklist is designed to help you identify the skills that you use well and those skills that you might need to focus on to improve or maintain your level of competency.
